Ask any sound engineer how their system came together and you will get a different answer: a PA from a closed cinema, amplifiers salvaged from a church, cables that have outlived three governments.
The underground sound system is an act of collective engineering. The bass is not heard so much as inhabited — it moves through the floor, the walls, the chest, until the room itself becomes an instrument.
A good system doesn't play music. It rents out the room for the music to live in.
